Our Colorado operations take place in the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin – a large geological formation in northwestern Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. Our focus is the liquids-rich area within Weld County. In this highly productive area, we use technology and innovation to protect the environment and develop our acreage safely, sustainably and responsibly – just  as we have for the past three decades.

Noble Operations and Safety Training Center

The core mission of the Noble Operations and Safety Training Center (NOSTC) is to ensure our Colorado operators have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate safely in the field. Modeled after the training protocols of the U.S. Air Force, our NOSTC in Greeley provides a controlled environment where we train our team and local first responders on equipment that simulates our field operations. We also provide tours for people in our local communities who want to learn more about oil and natural gas operations.

Noble Operations Control Center

The Noble Operations Control Center (NOCC) is the nerve center for our oil and natural gas operations across northern Colorado. Here, we remotely monitor and control our automated oil and natural gas facilities in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our production facilities in the field communicate with the NOCC using solar-powered telemetry.

Integrated Development Plan

Our Integrated Development Plan approach enables us to reduce land use by more than 99 percent. In fact, it only takes 2.5 surface acres to produce the same amount of energy that previously required 400 surface acres. To put this in perspective, through innovative processes and technology, we utilize two football fields to produce the same amount of energy that previously required more than 300 football fields.

ATLAS

Emissions reduction was the primary intent when we began researching alternative transfer methods. Working with the industry, U.S. Government and Colorado, we identified a system design that also advances safety by keeping truck drivers at ground level throughout the transfer process. We call this program ATLAS – which stands for Alternative Truck-loading Anson System and is one of the many ways we are optimizing our operations.

Air Quality: Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR)

Through our leak detection and repair (LDAR) program, our team of trained technicians monitor and inspect our production facilities and well sites to help ensure safer, more efficient operations. Through the use of infrared cameras equipped with advanced thermal imaging technology, our team can detect emissions leaks that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Plug and Removal Program

Through our Plug and Removal Program, we are removing old facilities from subdivisions and rural areas and restoring these locations to their original condition. By the time our operations and reclamation teams finish work, you would never know an oil and natural gas well had been there in the first place. In many cases, after we reclaim the land, the site can be repurposed for other uses such as playgrounds, dog parks or farmland.
